Summer Camp Medical Team

Each week of the summer, hundreds of junior and senior high school kids load up and head to the mountains of British Columbia for the best week of their lives. To provide the best possible care, we recruit a Medical Team which includes Doctors, Nurse Practitioners, Nurses and BC EMT’s, to provide emergency and general medical practice care to help us meet the medical needs of the campers and summer volunteers at camp.

We want to invite you to apply to serve as medical staff for one of the following camps. There is an online portal for applying. The dates of our camps are listed below.

Skills

Bring your special skills this summer and experience our premium camp facilities! We have opportunities for a BC licensed general or family physician as well as an additional licensed physician, nurse practitioners, nurses and BC EMTs to provide coverage during each week.

ClubMed

Our camp clinic, ClubMed+, is set up like a family practice treatment centre. Support services available include BC Ambulance Service, 2 local pharmacies for prescriptions and Princeton General Hospital just 20 minutes away in Princeton.

While we have first aid and life guard volunteers on site, your skills will provide the health care and emergency services to ensure campers and volunteers receive excellent care during camp.

Office hours are set for 30-60 minutes following each meal. As part of the medical team, you are asked to wear a radio and be on call throughout the week in case of an emergency. The physician also documents the care that has been given in the infirmary log. At no time should any physician practice medicine that falls outside of his or her medical license, level of experience or training.

Note: Out-of-Province Physicians and Nurses will need to complete provincial requirements for temporary permits. There are costs associated to the application, and we would be happy to have a further conversation with those interested in pursuing this option.

Bring your family

Camp Medical Staff and their families stay for no charge during their week of service at camp. Your spouse and dependant children, are invited to share the week with you. We recommend that teenaged children be registered as campers. They’ll have opportunities to experience the many activities around camp. Whether it’s enjoying meals together, swimming in the pool, or watching Young Life summer camp in action, you’re sure to have a great time.

Accommodations

You will be treated to an air conditioned private room in beautiful Wolfe Creek Lodge.

Prince George, BC

I saw a group of staff and teens enjoying life to the absolute fullest. The clinic was impressively stocked and staff were extremely supportive. It was an honour to be part of such a journey.
